Commercial Electrical Construction
A broad-based introduction to all things electrical in commercial construction.
- Douglas Hansen
- Is a code consultant, author, expert witness, and instructor with 30-years of field experience. He's a licensed general contractor and ICC certified as a building, plumbing, mechanical, and an electrical inspector. He taught for many years in the College of San Mateo building technology degree program and for private training schools. Mr. Hansen's specialty is electrical inspection. He is the principal author for the current Code Check series, numerous magazine articles, and has also written the most popular book on electrical inspection for home inspectors, Electrical Inspection of Existing Dwellings. Mr. Hansen has been actively involved in the electrical code development process.

2008 California Energy Codes
A review of the numerous significant changes in Energy Codes coming to California and what they mean for homeowners and builders. These changes were originally slated to take effect on August 1, 2009, but implementation has been postponed due to problems with developing software compliance programs.
- Miles Hancock
- Is a deputy building official from South San Francisco and teaches a class on California energy codes at the College of San Mateo. He knows the codes inside out, and will have a great deal of useful information to share that will be relevant to home inspectors, contractors and tradesmen.
